Bullying awareness month

As many of you will know, it is anti-bullying month!

Today, I would like to make a stand against bullying.

It's wrong and it can hurt people in ways you could never imagine.

Punches and kicks.
It's not right.
Pointless.

Words can hurt as much as next weeks vaccination.
They stab and claw at you until you are nothing but a pile of mental tatters.
They ruin you.

Over the internet people can be the scariest,
You can say whatever you want and you don't need the courage that's vital in face-to-face confrontation.
You can be 'anonymous' and no-one will ever know it was you.

You can hurt others so easily.

We have to be careful.

Without this connection between us all - we are nothing.

We will never advance as a planet living this lifestyle.

We are equals. We all have to remember.

Together if we try we can beat bullying.

The keeling curve

Our carbon footprint is getting bigger, as Charles Keeling has shown us. Charles Keeling measured the atmospheric carbon dioxide levels frequently. He looked at both Antarctica and Hawaii and eventually he came out with the following results.

A Message for each and every Female

You're a female that should not be dragged down by these shallow approaches towards being 'feminine', man has taken over and forced this stereotypical beauty onto each and every woman. You're not someone who has to wait for a man to declare dominance over you. Marrying you based on the way you look instead of the beautiful personality within, which has not been smeared repetitively with layers of lipgloss and mascara. Not poked and prodded by countless make up brushes. Which hasn't been forced into the cruelty behind nearly every cosmetic product.

Book of the week

From now on, every Friday I will post a book of the week. This book may be a classic, a cult classic or one more modern.

This weeks book of the week is:

1984 by George Orwell

Book- A short film

I recently watched a brilliant short film on youtube, it was well-made and quite sad. Any bookworm will agree that it is an upsetting story.

Why I am afraid of the future

There are so many different theories to what will change- for example, people are fearing that the book '1984' will become reality in future years. Also, the fate that 'fahrenheit 451 predicted- I could not live without books! The main thing I am worried about, however, is the bleak and unforgiving future which lies ahead for the human race if we do not change our actions now, it is predicted that the world will be 10 times worse than it is today. A future timeline tells us that by 2050 half of the amazon rainforest would have been cut down. Fish size will have declined by nearly a quarter. By 2059 there will be no more oil. In 2060, 0.5% of animals and plants will go extinct per year- resulting in more carbon dioxide, because of the decrease in trees. Weather patterns will start to change, creating huge cyclones in the Mediterranean and many floods in New York. In 2069 the USA will reach a population of half a billion. Global average temperature would have risen by 4 degrees Celsius in 1970. The world does not look good. It is dangerous. Us humans have ruined our Earth. We have ruined what we were supposed to protect.
